Faber add lustre to the BRIT Awards with their LED floor

On 22 February this year, the famous BRIT Awards were presented during a thrilling evening at the London O2. Commissioned by Ogle Hog, Faber Audiovisuals provided additional fireworks using spectacular LED technology. “The response to the effects was very enthusiastic.”
The BRIT Awards are an event that is eagerly awaited by the crème de la crème of the British music industry. The presenting of awards, including Best Artist, Best Newcomer and Best British Album is interspersed with spectacular performances. This year, artists such as Emeli Sandé, Ed Sheeran, The Chainsmokers, Coldplay and Robbie Williams gave a show on a stage that was complemented by a LED floor. Ogle Hog the main supplier of video architecture for the Brit Awards employed the services of Faber Audiovisuals. They supplied 54 square metres of 7mm Zircon for two catwalks leading to the main stage. The stage itself was made out of 81 square metres of Zircon. Senior LED technician Matthias Crombez from Faber Audiovisuals said: “The option to create such combinations is typical of LED panels. When the show started, particularly during that first song, it was beautiful to see the effect of the material that was placed.” It resulted in a host of positive reactions. “LED floor products are not very widespread. Many people had heard about this, but had not seen it before. Their reactions were full of praise.”
Crew members of Faber Audiovisuals were present before and during the Brit Awards. “England is a country with strict working procedures. Safety measures are paramount here. So everything had been arranged down to the smallest detail, this was due to the meticulous planning by Ogle Hog’s Chris Saunders and Connie Glover. Ogle Hog delivered our LED floor in a package with other suppliers and managed the installation of the LED floor in detail. Two construction days were followed by two rehearsal days and the day of the actual show.” Just like the millions who watched the show on television and via a livestream on YouTube, Crombez greatly enjoyed the event: “Faber Audiovisuals has experience of big shows like these, but this one remains special. We are proud the technology of Faber Audiovisuals contributed to its success.”[divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”40″][social_buttons facebook=”true” twitter=”true” google_plus=”true” linkedin=”true” pinterest=”true”]
